... That a deal legalizing same-sex marriage in New York State is imminent.

That Democratic Deal

We’re now entering the third week of the new Pax Democratica, a truce brokered by the New York State Democratic Party’s executive director, Charlie King, between three warring, Buffalo-based factions of the local party. King negotiated the deal at the behest of Governor Andrew Cuomo, who is apparently tired of dealing with bickering Democrats here.

That NFTA Land Sale

Last week the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority announced its intention to solicit bids on some of its massive land holdings in Buffalo’s Outer Harbor, specifically the Small Boat Harbor and 60 acres of adjacent land that includes two gargantuan empty warehouses, Terminals A and B.

For more than a year, People United for Sustainable Housing has sought to negotiate with National Fuel over the terms of its state-mandated conservation incentive program, which PUSH members believe should be reconfigured to direct benefit those who need the most help: low-income people living in dilapidated, energy-inefficient housing.
