Charlotte's Web

Theater of Youth is fueled by books that children enjoy, and especially by those they read in school. The company is able to renew itself by returning to its past triumphs as new generations of children grow up and make their way to the theater.

The company has visited Charlotte’s Web, from the classic 1952 story by E. B. White, before. Now a new audience of children can see the tale of a pig named Wilbur who is loved by an eight-year-old farm girl named Fern and befriended by a clever spider named Charlotte. Wilbur is saved from the dinner table through Fern and Charlotte’s efforts. They are able to bribe a greedy rat named Templeton into helping them.

The current production is directed by Meg Quinn and features the talents of Kurt Guba, Danica Riddick, Adam Rath, Arin Lee Dandes, Kurt Erb, and Chris LaBanca. Charlotte’s Web plays through June 3 at the Allendale Theater (203 Allen Street, 884-4400 x304).
