Cover Story

Ron Paul + Potheads = Racist Dopes

by Michael I. Niman

Ron Paul’s popularity, given his history of racism, is troubling. More troubling, however, is the willingness of his supporters, an odd coalition of one-percenter corporatists and anti-war pothead libertarians, to ignore or excuse these views.

Comedy Interview

Good Show, Bad Show

Death, Where is Thy Fang?

by M. Faust

An existentialist parable disguised as an adventure movie, The Grey tips its hand so often and so thoroughly that it’s hard to imagine anyone is really surprised by the way it ends. Of course, some people are, probably the same ones who thought it was a good idea to sue the distributors of last fall’s Drive because it didn’t have as many car chases as the trailers implied.

Here’s how: At sunset, gaze up at the sheer east face of the rock formation known as El Capitan. There you will see what seems to be a vertical river of fire, also known as Horsetail Fall.

Advice

Ask Anyone

I have a coworker with whom I share an office, and she has this horrible habit of talking while her mouth is full. She’ll have a snack and answer the phone with her mouth full. She’ll try to carry on a conversation with me while she’s eating. It’s terribly offensive to me and I am quite certain it’s offensive to the people on the other end of the phone line.
