Meridian West Gallery Opens

Artist, poet, and former president of the Buffalo Society of Artists, George Grace, has taken another creative turn and opened an art gallery at 1209 Hertel Avenue. The former Chateau Buffalo Wine Shop is now a venue for local artists and a forum for writers and poets.

Opening night brought out a full slate of the culturally curious. Clean lines, handsome paneled display cases, and well-lighted overhead fixtures gave every work exhibited maximum visibility. Well-known local and regional painters and mixed media artists are presently displayed. Grace is an accessible gallery director available to artists wishing to exhibit in a friendly neighborhood setting free from the often perceived intimidations of downtown galleries. Certainly Hertel Avenue has joined Grant Street and Amherst Street in extending the cultural corridor well into North Buffalo.
