Bruce Jackson: Being There
For all his recent, remarkable landscape work—most notably of grain elevators but also of Delaware Park—the most striking photographs Bruce Jackson has made in a long career are of people. Prisoners on a work detail, philosopher Michel Foucault, Texas prison chief George Beto, historian and critic Rene Girard, attorney Bull Kunstler, actor Dustin Hoffman—it’s all in their faces. Jackson’s retrospective, Being There: Bruce Jackson, Photographs 1962-2012, is at the Burchfield Penney Art Center through June 16.
