Art: Soup Strainers

On Monday, April 1, folks gathered in the cold and wind at Silo City to announce the creation of the Buffalo Mustache Hall of Fame and Museum. The star of the show: this rendition of a giant mural by Buffalo artist Max Collins, to cover one side of the Marine A elevator, featuring the mustaches of Grover Cleveland, Lindy Ruff, Rick James, and Mark Twain. On hand were three well-whiskered Buffalo characters: Silo City owner Rick Smith, the Good Neighborhood’s Seamus Gallivan, and Flying Bison Brewery’s Tim Herzog. If you want to find out more about the museum, or make your pitch for entry to the hall of fame, find them at Boom Days, Buffalo’s first rite of spring, this Saturday, April 6, 2-10pm, at Silo City (92 Cilds Street).
