Buffalo Pride Week Events Guide

Thursday, May 30

GAY 5K RUN

Run starts at 6:30pm. Registration, 4:30-6pm, upstairs at Soho Burger Bar (64 W. Chippewa Street). Race packet pickup is the day of the race only. Entry fee is $25.

The race will be followed immediately by a celebration at Soho Burger Bar, featuring DJ Lil Joe, a drag show, and an awards ceremony. Straight allies are welcome and encouraged to participate.



Friday, May 31

CHROMA: ART OPENING

6-10pm at 464 Gallery (464 Amherst Street). Artwork by Brian Dickenson, Mickey Harmon, Tommy Nguyensmith, Alexandra Spaulding, CJ Szatkowski, Adam Weekley, Marcus L. Wise, and more, Guests 21 and older will receive a complimentary champagne. A suggested $3 donation is appreciated but not required.

Becker

AMBUSH PRIDE PARTY

6pm-1am at the Cobblestone (130 South Park Avenue). Reign, the Stamplickers, DJs Milk and Yama, comedian Kristen Becker, Jenny Wilson and the Drag Kings, the Boom Boom Bettys, Bitch, God-des and She. $10.



Saturday, June 1

DYKE MARCH

Line-up begins at 4pm, step-off at 5 pm. The March begins at Kleinhans Music Hall and heads east on North Street, south along Elmwood Avenue, east onto Allen Street, and finishes at the Allen Street Festival, a block party on Allen Street between Franklin and Pearl. March participants receive free admission to the festival. All Dyke March participants must register online (www.buffalopridefestival.com/Events/DykeMarch). Registration is free and open to the public.

ALLEN STREET FESTIVAL

6-10pm, Allen Street, between North Pearl and Franklin Street. Julia Weldon, Gental Touch, DJ Charles Masters, DJ Yama, and guest MC Allie Hartwick. Plus food vendors, street art, and activism. A suggested $3 donation is appreciated and will be accepted at the entrance gate.



Sunday, June 2

PRIDE PARADE

Step off is at 1pm. The parade begins at Elmwood and Auburn and ends at the corner of Elmwood and Chippewa. Floats, performances, and participants from over 100 organizations. Awards are presented each year for outstanding entries.

PRIDE FESTIVAL

1-7pm at Canalside. Performances by Latrice Royale and Neon Hitch, as well as the Ablrights, Buffalo Gay Men’s Chorus, DJ Charles Masters, DJ XOTEC, Fy’a Colby-Valentino, Jayme Coxx, Poindexter, and guest MC Ed Dranch. Plus family activities, food and gift vendors, bar/party tent, an all-ages (nonalcoholic) dance tent, and information tables from local organizations and businesses. A suggested $3 donation is appreciated and will be accepted at the entrance gate.



Monday, June 3

BEACH DAY

11am-5pm at Woodlawn Beach State Park (S-3580 Lakeshore Road, Blasdell). All beachgoers are invited to bring their own food and drinks (no glass or alcohol is permitted). Guests ages 21 and up can also purchase food and beverages inside the beach grounds of Woody’s. $7 parking fee per car.
