Last weekend, Buffalo’s Burmese community gathered to celebrate the initiation and ordination of Buddhist monks. On Sunday afternoon, the celebration centered on the Amvets Medallion Post 13, on Review Place in Riverside, where folks gathered for food, music, and traditional Rakhine dancing (pictured is one of the dancers), as wells as a performance by renowned Burmese singer Ni Ni Win Shwe.
