Two New Theater Companies: Raices and Buffalo Public

Two new theater companies in residence at established theaters open shows this week. Raíces, Buffalo’s new Latino theater company, premiers with La Ginga by Carmen Rivera, “the story of a young woman born and raised in NYC in search of her Puerto Rican roots,” in residence at Road Less Traveled theater. Buffalo Public Theatre, in association with Ujima Company, Inc., is opening The Wizard of Oz at TheaterLoft.

Bounty at the New Phoenix

We get a highly theatrical exploration (with some poetic license) into the known facts of a maritime adventure in which a group of Englishmen went native.
