Stones in His Pockets

Stones in His Pockets by Marie Jones features Christopher Evans as Jake Quinn and Kevin Craig as Charlie Conlon, two Irishmen working as extras in a Hollywood film being made in a small Irish town. Evans and Craig portray 14 characters—young and old, male and female—to tell the story of how the arrival of a Hollywood crew and some temporary jobs force changes and realizations among the local population. Under the direction of Christian Brandjes, this is an enjoyable diversion. The switch between characters is consistently enthusiastic, if not always clear, and the ultimate message is life-affirming.
