MusicalFare has taken its obsession with plays about artistic creation downtown. In the past, they’ve taken on Georges Seurat (Sunday in the Park with George); Ludwig van Beethoven (33 Variations); Clara Wieck Schumann (Talk to Me Now); and George Gershwin (American Rhapsody).

A Hatful of Rain

American drama of the mid-20th century was often a return to the well-made play: tightly constructed climactic plays in which characters with secrets collide with consequences. The grittier the subject matter the better.
