"Robin Hood" at Theatre of Youth

The Theatre of Youth production of Robin Hood is the sort of show that could inspire a lifelong love of the theater in a child. With its appealing characters, action-packed story, and numerous moments of joyful comedy, this is a tale that is likely to resonate in the memories of the children who see it.

Fornes’s characters, who are trapped in a life of poverty, ignorance, and deep emotional need, are similarly entangled in this house. If the concept evokes thoughts of Bertolt Brecht and the Berliner Ensemble, we shouldn’t be surprised: This is the artistic background of the German-born scenographer.

"Aladdin" on Broadway

The name you will want to remember is James Monroe Iglehart. He plays the Genie in the new musical stage adaptation of Disney’s Aladdin, and he is astonishing in this wry send-up of the entire Disney genre, and sure to win a Tony Award.

"Rocky" on Broadway

Okay, I’m as surprised as anyone. I adored Rocky the Musical.
