Legislators disrespect seniors

Legislators disrespect seniors

I find it pretty selfish how legislators are whining about not getting a raise in over 18 years. Especially since I’ve brought it up to them for over eight years that they are responsible for New York State seniors not getting one in over 25 years. What? The legislators are resonsible for changing/updating eligibility requirement guidelines for the IT-214—a real estate property tax credit for renters and seniors. Failure to update these eligibility guidlines over 25 years for income creep, cost of living adjustments, and other fiscal tangents has directly resulted in seniors being left out for over 25 years. Legislators have told me that the state can’t afford to update this for seniors...yet now they find money and want to give themselves a raise? Who deserves it more? Who’s waited longer? Update the eligibility requirements to help seniors and do a better job...then come asking for a raise.
