By now, after decades of comic book universes that have been created, it’s not very often something this new and fresh arrives at book shops. Brass Sun is a splendid title for a series that I read and enjoyed.

In “Little Beasts,” poet Richard Siken writes “History is a little man in a brown suit/trying to define a room he is outside of./I know history./There are many names in history/but none of them are ours.” Speaking as a gay man, Siken’s eloquent lines recall the historical erasure of queerness everywhere: at home, abroad, in culture, media and education.
