Art Scene	Along the Gipsy Trail by Jack Foran Wonderful timing on the Patteran artists exhibit at the Burchfield Penney Art Center, in the wake of the Center recent exhibit of the paintings of Alexander Levy, a major force in the Buffalo Society of Artists during the 1920s and ‘30s, whose conservative penchant and partisanship caused the more progressive-minded among the BSA artists to split from the old group and form the Patteran Society.
Theatrically Speaking	The Arties draw nigh, Shakespeare at New Phoenix, and a Pulitzer winning drama at Road Less Traveled by Anthony Chase All the eligible shows have opened and the voting is underway for the 25th Annual Artie Awards to be held at 710 Main on Monday, June 1st. Get your wardrobe ready....
Film Review	Clouds of Sils Maria by Jordan Canahai In the surprisingly long tradition of wonderful films from singular and visionary male directors about strong women who find their identities doubled or made enigmatic, such as Bergman’s Persona, Altman’s Three Women, and Lynch’s Mulholland Drive, one can now invoke Olivier Assayas invigorating Clouds of Sils Maria in such diverse and august company.

A collaborative effort with Buffalo visual artist Gerald Mead, the event will explore miniatures in music and art.
