Slow Down the Traffic Around Delaware Park

I am a Parkside neighbor and a mother of twin toddlers. I have lived in the neighborhood for six years and proud to have moved to the city during this revitalizing time. Buffalo is in an upward swing with families flocking back to city living.

Ecida Fails to Understand the Concept of "No"

Mission creep.

Market rate housing, senior or otherwise, with IDA tax abatements is mission creep.

Nonetheless, the ECIDA has a new loophole laden policy on market rate senior housing guaranteed not to filter out one single project. The News called it a half step. I might call it a side step and if grading it would give the policy an A for creative writing and obfuscation and an F for public policy.

Enough With the Antibiotic Meats

Recently, President Obama directed federal agencies to serve antibiotic-free meat and poultry in government cafeterias. The FDA will require animal producers to obtain authorization from a licensed veterinarian to use drugs to treat a specific disease, rather than just to promote rapid growth, as is current practice. As much as 80 percent of all U.S. antibiotics are used in animal agriculture.
