FRI 1/29 Mary Ramsey

Tabree Restaurant, 8pm

Critically acclaimed recording artist, singer, songwriter, violin/violist Mary Ramsey tours the nation with alternative folk rockers 10,000 Maniacs and appears locally with John Lombardo as John and Mary and their band The Valkyries. From jazz standards to folk tunes, pop, and classical, see her perform an intimate concert this weekend with Stu Weissman, Marc Rosen, and Avery Weissman.

Fri 1/29 REVENGE OF THE SYNTHS

DNIPRO Ukrainian Center, 9pm-2am, $12

Dark Waves Entertainment brings a Star Wars themed Dance party to the Ukrainian Center this weekend. DJ Berrix, hailing from Antwerp, Belgium, will make his first appearance stateside and he’ll be joined by DJs Eyes Everywhere, Twist, Basha, Chunin, Flannels b2B Mattrix, Dub’l Forte, Devious b2b, Kristen Heart, and Sunglasses Mike. Don your best Star Wars garb and get your groove on.

SAT 1/30 BUFFALO GROUNDHOG DAY CELEBRATION

Flying Bison Brewing Company, 12-4pm, $25

Observe members of Buffalo’s Inner Circle as they awaken Buffalo Mack from his hibernation to look for his shadow as the first groundhog to predict the weather for the next six weeks. And then drink some beer! Tickets include a Buffalo Groundhog Day pint glass, two beer tickets and a $5 coupon for the Lloyd Taco Truck that will be parked outside. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Buffalo Zoo.

Canadian-born Indie singer/songwriter/guitarist Calvin Love brings his dreamy “lo-fi bedroom pop” stylings to Babeville on Monday night. If you’re not familiar with him, do yourself a favor and check out some online excerpts from his album Super Future.
