For Your Height Only (1980, Wea Corp, $24.95)—An underappreciated classic in the realm of so-bad-it’s-good cinema, this Filipino James Bond spoof stars Weng Weng, who measures a hair shy of three feet tall. (“Bigger than Goldfinger’s Finger—Bigger Than Thunderball’s….!” boasted the ads.) The hilarious dubbing adds to the fun (all of the bad guys sound like they’re voiced by the same guy, doing an Edward G. Robinson impression), as does the fact that this may not have been intended to be a comedy.

The Harold Lloyd Comedy Collection Vols. 1-3 (New Line Home Entertainment, $89.85)—Three sets totaling six disks (and a bonus disk if you buy them in a box set) featuring just about all of the feature films made by one of the silent screen’s greatest comedian at the height of his career. Lloyd was an average-looking everyman, especially compared to his peers Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton, but he was the most consistent talent of the three, and his stunt scenes are still breathtaking 80 years later.

9 SONGS (2004) (Tartan, $24.99)—British director Michael Winterbottom (24 Hour Party People, Jude, Butterfly Kiss) joins the list of European filmmakers experimenting with explicit depictions of sex as a tool toward revealing relationships. What he reveals here, though, is mostly that non-prurient sex can be pretty dull to look at. Still worth checking out for the nine concert sequences (hence the title) featuring Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, The Von Bondies, Elbow, Primal Scream, The Dandy Warhols, Super Furry Animals, Franz Ferdinand and Michael Nyman.
