Artists in Buffalo

“Artists in Buffalo Holiday Open Studios and Galleries” brings Buffalo to life this weekend with art enjoyment opportunities. This event is always festive and fun, and visiting artists in their studios is an unusual opportunity.

There are so many new spaces to check out this year, it makes me sad I’ll be out of town. Griffis is opening their studio on Essex Street, showing small works in iron; the new Insite Gallery at 810 Elmwood will feature the paintings of Nathan Naetzker and hand torched glass jewelry by Julia Duax-Skop; Pensandote Gallery will feature their artists at the new space, Gallery 51 at 569 Elmwood; and Kepa3 Gallery re-opens as Peter Fowler Contemporary in a new space at 31 Barker Street (between Linwood and Main around the corner from Delta Sonic) the space features paintings by Fowler, dolls by Jeff Vincent, and jewelry this weekend; and Greg Link also opened a new space for Cone Five Pottery at 798 Elmwood.

Starlight Studio and Art Gallery of the Learning Disabilities is premiering their first exhibit of art works by adults with disabilities in “We Never Knew We Had So Much Talent.” The exhibit is open during the Open Studios event at 340 Delaware Avenue along with an opening on Friday from 3-8pm. The exhibit continues through March 3. And that’s just what’s new.

Join the artists this weekend: Friday, December 2, 5-9 pm, Saturday December 3 & Sunday December 4, 11 am-6 pm. Download maps at www.artistsinbuffalo.org or pick them up at the venues.
