Romi Mayes performs "On the Corner of Grant and Alice"

This week’s edition of Nietzsche’s’ “Singer/Songwriter Night” features some out of town visitors making a very special appearance. Canadian folk and bluegrass singer Romi Mayes comes all the way from Winnipeg in Manitoba for the Monday evening performance (on June 4), and she’ll be joined by Texas-based mainstay John Evans for a night of rock, bluegrass, folk and country. The songwriter showcase happens every Monday night at Nietzsche’s from 8:30-10:30pm and is always followed by “Buffalo’s Longest Running Open Mic,” hosted by Michael Meldrum. A sneak preview/house concert with Evans and Mayes takes place the night before (Sunday, June 3), part of the Pan-Amherst Concert Series at 7pm. (See Sunday’s ‘Rock’ listings for more details).
