David Bazan

Between 1998 and 2006, David Bazan attracted a fierce cult following with his band Pedro the Lion. A contemporary of artists such as Damien Jurado and Songs:Ohia, Pedro the Lion dipped deep into topics of murder, deceit and estranged relationships, leading Paste Magazine last year to list Bazan as one of top 100 living songwriters. After 2004’s Achille’s Heal, Bazan took some time to concentrate on the electronic based project Headphones before deciding to dissolve the Pedro the Lion name. Since then, he has toured extensively on his own and released an EP titled Fewer Moving Parts, which consisted of five fully arranged tracks accompanied by five acoustic renditions of said songs. Bazan performs at Mohawk Place on Friday (Oct. 26) with All Smiles, which is the solo project of Jim Fairchild (of Grandaddy fame) and Tracy Morrow. The show starts at 8pm.
