Jesu

Birmingham, England native Justin Broadick’s ability to straddled the lines between metal, industrial, punk, shoegaze and beyond is well documented. Just take a look at the guy, whose resume includes a stint in the grindcore phenoms Napalm Death, leading the heavier than hell experimentalists Godflesh and now fronting the remarkable Jesu. With Jesu, Broadick continues his unclassifiable, boundless brand of music, incorporating shoegaze, ambient, doom metal and rock contexts. This year saw Jesu issue its second full-length, Conqueror (Hydra Head), and make it’s first trek across the US (including an astounding appearance at SXSW). Before 2007 is over the band is running across North America making a stop in Buffalo this Friday (Oct. 26) at Showplace Theater with Torche and Fog. Doors open at 7pm.
