Gore Gore Girls

Friday (Nov. 30) at the Mohawk Place will be a night full of beer drinkers and hell raisers as three high voltage rock and roll bands perform together. Detroit’s Gore Gore Girls are a garage rock record collector’s dream, referencing Bo Diddley, the Ronettes, the Saints and the Stooges. Named after the 1972 classic grindhouse film by Herschell Gordon Lewis, these four women have reached a level of rock-n-roll respectability that’s seen them sharing stages with the Stooges, the MC5 and the Zombies. Also on the bill are Cleveland’s Whiskey Daredevils, who intertwine AC/DC and ZZ Top with Buck Owens and Merle Haggard. Featuring former members of the legendary Cowslingers, the Daredevils are a staple in Buffalo. Opening the show is the Found, one of the best young bands on the scene.
