The Town Pants performs "Weight of Words"

Post-Mardi Gras blues got you down? Never fear! The buildup to St. Patrick’s Day (the next great drinking holiday on the calendar) picks up on Friday (Feb. 23) at 8pm, when the Town Pants drop down to the Buffalo Irish Center for some spirited merriment. The Vancouver based celtic folk-rock band is on tour in support of their third album Weight of Words (Maximum Music/Universal). The title track was recently included on What the Shite, Vol. 2, a compilation released by celtic rock website www.shitenonions.com. Reports from last year’s Great Blue Heron Music Festival were filled with praise for this raucous band featuring beautiful fiddler Virginia Schwartz. And when you wake up Saturday afternoon after seeing this show, you’ll only have three more weeks to wait until the big green parade.
