New McKinley H.S. Allegations
Just when it seemed that the ongoing controversy at McKinley High School could not get any more shocking, Artvoice obtained a letter dated March 4, 2008 written by Buffalo Board of Education Vice President of Executive affairs Ralph Hernandez, addressed to Richard P. Mills, New York State Commissioner of Education. The letter was copied to Superintendent James Williams and the Buffalo Board of Education.
Attached was a letter dated February 17, which was received by Hernandez from a former teacher at McKinley who retired in 2007. Fearing reprisal, the teacher sent the letter to Hernandez anonymously. But the information contained in the letter is anything but anonymous, naming names and describing violations that make Jayvonna Kincannon’s transgressions seem like child’s play. Among them:
- Employee and vendor violations
- Theft of services
- Abuse of Special Education services
- Separation of church and state
- Regents exam fraud
Since these are now matters of public record, here are both letters, printed in their entirety.
