Queen City Gallery 1st Anniversary Party

Friday, March 21

queen city gallery

1st anniversary party

In addition to his College Street space in Allentown, Michael Mulley has opened a downtown location, the Queen City Gallery inside the historic Market Arcade. This gallery is an intimate space which specializes in nostalgic photographs of Buffalo. Mulley’s images are a rich assortment focusing on various regions within the city. Some of his most popular are those of City Hall, Kleinhans, Lafayette Square, the Olmsted Parks and East Side churches. Others are of bygone local landmarks such as Freddie’s Doughnuts, the Harbor Inn and Ray Flynn’s. He has also recently published three photographic collections: Buffalo in Black & White is a look at the city’s architectural gems, such as the Electric Tower and Prudential (Guaranty) Building; The First Ward features those city inhabitants who live in the shadow of the grain elevators; Louder Than Hell is a series of heavy metal and punk rock concert photos taken between 1987 and 1992. Soon to be released will be Allentown, a compilation of images from one of Buffalo’s most unique neighborhoods. This weekend, Mulley invites the public to celebrate with him the Queen City Gallery’s first year anniversary party. An exhibition, New Work by Michael Mulley, is on view at the Gallery through April 30. (Hours are 11am-4pm Monday-Friday.)
