On the San Francisco rock scene, the band Third Eye Blind has been a visible presence since the mid-nineties. While many other bands were heading south to tinseltown, 3eB stuck it out in the Bay area, somewhere in-between the grungy Seattle scene and the glam of SoCal. The music walks that line as well, sounding authentically DIY, raw and contradictory. After a decade of line-up changes and their most recent album over five years old, 3eB has announced its second coming with the expected release of The Hideous Strength (tentative title) sometime this year. A pre-release tour brings them to the Town Ballroom on Wednesday (Feb. 13). Doors open at 7pm.
