Ellicott District Councilmember Brian Davis tries to quash criticism

On March 5, Buffalo attorney William F. Trezevant filed a letter with Buffalo’s City Clerk, asking Council President Dave Franczyk to open an ethics investigation into the activities of Ellicott District Councilmember Brian Davis.



Common Council again delays action on bonds for capital projects

After a heated March 3 Common Council meeting, in which one councilmember was threatened with disorderly conduct and the subsequent shouting matches called for use of the gavel, councilmembers again voted 5-4 to table the 44 bond resolutions at this Tuesday’s meeting. The majority of the three-hour council meeting was dedicated to the conflict.



BERC, BURA, BNRC fail to provide Common Council with financial information

Also in Council this week, the Delaware District’s Mike LoCurto introduced a resolution reiterating a request for financial information from three city agencies: Buffalo Economic Renaissance Corporation, Buffalo Urban Renewal Agency, and Buffalo Nieghborhood Revitalization Corporation.



Olmsted Schools stakeholder meeting tonight

Tonight (Thursday, March 19, 5-6pm) at the Crane Branch Library, 633 Elmwood Avenue, parents and other stakeholders are invited to attend a meeting to learn about plans to move third and fourth grade classes from their current location at Olmsted School 64 to the Olmsted at Kensington (OAK) school, which currently serves fifth through eighth grade students, and is located over four miles away. Future plans at OAK include extending enrollment all the way through grade 12.
