Barbara Miller-Williams seeks endorsement of PAC that doesn’t exist
Last week Artvoice received a letter from Erie County Legislator Barbara Miller-Williams: “I am writing,” she wrote, “to request the opportunity to meet with the Artvoice’s Political Action Committee to request the endorsement and support of my candidacy for Erie County Legislator, 3rd District.”
Miller-Williams was appointed to the heavily Democratic 3rd District seat in 2007 to replace George Holt, who was drummed out of office for failing to pay sales tax at his restaurant. Miller-Williams is running uncontested in the Democratic primary, and Erie County Executive Chris Collins has said he can work with Miller-Williams and will not sponsor a Republican to run against her.
So she can probably win without the support of the Artvoice PAC. She’ll have to, in fact: We don’t have, and never have had, a political action committee. Her letter was mailed to the paper’s old office at 500 Franklin Street. We moved to 810 Main Street six years ago.
