The Pride Center recently welcomed Jorien Brock, JD, MSW, as its new senior director. Brock has had extensive experience with lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender issues. She came to the Pride Center from Neighborhood Legal Services Inc., where she was the staff attorney for the SSI Homeless Outreach Project. In addition, she is an adjunct professor for the SUNY Graduate School of Social Work.

Brock gave Gaywatch the following statement: “I am excited to join the Pride Center of Western New York. Our mission is to work with the community to make Western New York a safe, healthy, and satisfying place for LGBT people to live, work, and establish their families. For me it is that community piece that is so important. My focus is going to be meeting with community organizations and individuals to share information about what they are doing, assess the changing needs of the LGBT community, and explore how we can work together to better serve our community. I want the Pride Center to be a holistic place where we can come together in work, play, advocacy, spirit and health.”
