A Choice on the Ballot
At last, we the people of the Fifth District have a choice for Erie County Legislator. Regardless of the backroom deals concocted by County Executive Chris Collins, former Legislator Kathy Konst’s name has been replaced on November’s ballot with that of current Legislator Diane Terranova, a truly qualified candidate.
The lesson to be learned here is that in spite of Mr. Collins’s “I’m a businessman, not a politician” rhetoric, and all of the $500 and $1,000 per person fundraisers he hosts for his anointed few, the recent court ruling which puts Diane Terranova on the ballot shows that the underdog can prevail, justice wins out and we the voters will have a choice on Election Day.
