Kathy Kelly Speaks at Fundraiser Next Weekend

Veteran peace activist will deliver keynote at annual fundraiser for the Wester New York Peace Center
Kathy Kelly, a founder of Voices in the Wilderness and Voices for Creative Nonviolence, will dliver the keynote address at the Western New York Peace Center’s annual fundraiser next Saturday, November 7. Kelly has traveled to Iraq 26 times, bringing medical supplies when such imports were banned by sanctions on the Saddam Hussein regime and traveling through combat zones during both Gulf wars. She has been arrested more than 60 times for various rotest activities. Since 1982, she has refused to pay taxes on the grounds that she is a pacifist. She is a frequent contributor to numerous journals, and to Web sites such as CounterPunch and CommonDreams.org.
