Lit Event: When in Rome...

When in Rome...

…do as the Romans do. Which might well mean tooling around the city in a sleek scooter, taking in the Eternal City’s many sights, stopping from time to time for a glass of wine.

There’s no better guide to Rome’s more unusual sights than Rome the Second Time: 15 Itineraries That Don’t Go to the Coliseum, by local attorney Diane Bennett and her husband, historian William Graebner, who carry readers through the city’s history and and neighborhoods and architecture, both ancient and modern.

You can sample their writing on the subject at romethesecondtime.blogspot.com. Or you can meet the authors in person: Bennett and Graebner will talk about their book this Sunday (March 14) at 2pm, at the Western New York Book Arts Center (468 Washington Street at Mohawk). A tasting of appropriate wines will be conducted by Paula Paradise, Director of Wine Education at Premier Wines and Artvoice columnist. Free for members of Just Buffalo and subscribers to the Babel series; cheap for everyone else.
