You’ve already heard this by now, thanks to Jim Heaney at the Buffalo News: While his colleagues in the State Assembly were conducting budget hearings in Albany today, State Senator Antoine Thompson was in Jamaica, a trip he’d taken without bothering to tell the State Senate where he was going.

As if Buffalo needed anymore reason to despise Pittsburgh Penguins golden boy Sidney Crosby, on Feb. 28 ‘Sid the Kid’ delivered. Like being trapped inside a post-traumatic sports disorder flashback, Buffalo fans watched helplessly as the Canadian boy wonder scored the decisive overtime goal in the gold medal game against the Buffalo Sabres’ Ryan Miller and Team USA. Seriously, if anybody else had scored that goal, the loss would be much more tolerable. It’s safe to say that game, in combination with the similar outcome in 2008’s outdoor NHL Winter Classic, have earned Crosby a permanent place on Buffalo’s hate list.
