Join Artvoice in boosting the local economy

Readers who go online to Artvoice.com and pledge to spend a minimum of $100 at locally owned stores this year will be entered to win prize packages, including ski passes, BPO and theater tickets, gift certificates for restaurants, clothing shops, and more.

If every one of Artvoice's 285,000 readers pledged and spent $100, that would mean $28.5 million for our local businesses. If they bring friends and family, that's millions more.

Studies show that 68 cents of every dollar spent locally stays and circulates in the community, while only 43 cents spent in national chain stores remains here.

This promotion is in partnership with 75 sister newspapers like Artvoice in cities from Maine to Hawaii to try to create a $2.4 billion impact on small businesses across the country.
