The Buffalo Niagara Film Festival is now seeking volunteers and interns (someone who is self motivated, creative and well-organized) for April 2016 events which will be taking place at The Tonawanda Castle, Tonawanda, NY from April 13th thru April 17th.

 

OUR NEXT VOLUNTEER MEETING WILL TAKE PLACE AT THE TONAWANDA CASTLE ONFRIDAY APRIL 8TH FROM 6-9PM

 

Anyone that is volunteering for this years festival please try and make this 6pm meeting on Friday at the Tonawanda Castle, 69 Delaware St., Tonawanda, NY 14150 as we are getting extremely close to the opening of our event on April 13th and need to make a solid schedule with everyone at hand. Thank you. 

 

We will stay as late as it takes to get everyone here on Friday, so if you can't make it exactly at 6pm no worries we will hang around and wait for a couple/few hours if need be to get you situated. Please try and make this timeframe even if you have to get in and out quickly. Please post this message and pass this along to any other potential volunteers.

 

Special Dates, News & Events for this years festival are:

 

April 13th – Launching of the BNFF's Main Events & Opening Ceremonies at the Tonawanda castle

 

April 15th – 7pm – World Premiere of Stanley Isaacs new documentary film "It's Always About the Story: Conversations With Alan Ladd Jr." (producer of Braveheart, The Man in the Iron Mask, Gone Baby Gone, etc) Stanley Isaacs (writer/producer/director, Raptor Island, Gross Anatomy, Albert S. Ruddy and Alan Ladd Docs, is a friend of the BNFF and husband of Cheryl Boone Isaacs who is currently the President of AMPAS, Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences) Stan will be here in person.

 

April 15th – 9:30pm – 20 Year Reunion Premiere of Larry Bishop's "Mad Dog Time" (starring Diane Lane, Burt Reynolds, Richard Dreyfuss, Ellen Barkin, Jeff Goldblum, Gabriel Byrne, Billy Idol, Rob Reiner, etc) Writer/Producer/Director Larry Bishop will be here in person with never before seen "Behind The Scenes" footage, giveaways, memorabilia items for auction and giveaways, autographs, Mad Dog Time T-shirts, etc and much more – an event you don't want to miss.

 

April 16th: – Comic-Con Theme Day & Horror Films in the Basement, which will include a full day of comic-con market space, special celebrity guests, panel discussions, autograph & picture opportunities, world premiers, horror and other films, and a masquerade party fun-filled with entertainment, spirits and themed costumes.

April 17th: Awards Ceremony and Fallen Soldiers Event – where Special Celebrity Guests and Presenters (including Stephen Lang, Larry Bishop, Frank Dux, Stanley Isaacs, Jon Van Ness and more) will be honoring families of fallen soldiers from the Iraqi War with Hero Paintings done by Kaziah Hancock of their loved ones and announcing the BNFF 2016 Award Winners.

 

Special Guests Attending: – Among some of the special guests and presenters for this years event will be Timothy Payne (a local double amputee Army Airborne soldier and recipient of Lifetime Achievement Award from President Obama),  Actor Stephen Lang (Avatar, Conan, Tombstone),Frank Dux (Bloodsport, Lionheart, The Quest, also whose real life story these movies were based on), Larry Bishop (writer, director, actor and son of Joey Bishop from The Rat Pack and friend of Quentin Tarantino's and the BNFF. Some of Larry's films include Underworld, Kill Bill 2, Mad Dog Time, & Hell Ride), Stanley Isaacs (writer/producer/director, Raptor Island, Gross Anatomy, Albert S. Ruddy and Alan Ladd Docs, is also a friend of the BNFF and husband of Cheryl Boone Isaacs who is currently the President of AMPAS, Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences), and Jon Van Ness (The Natural, Brubaker, The Postman Always Rings Twice, The Hitcher), Larry Brand(Halloween: Resurrection, Christina, A Perfect Man), Barry Kivel (The Natural, Bound, Crocodile Dundee, One Fine Day), Dick Delson (Writer/Publicist/Strategist for numerous Golden Globes, Academy Awards & Presidential Campaigns – some of Dick's films include, American Graffiti, Jaws, Rocky, Lord of the Rings, Air Force One, Chicago, Gangs of New York, &100's more…) Dick Delson has been credited with over 300 Academy Award Nominations and over 100 Wins for him and his clients and will be the BNFF's 2016 Lifetime Achievement Award Recipient and more (for possible interviews with any of our celebrity guests please call bill at 716-432-1065)

 

BNFF Panels & Workshops: There will be several high-profile panels and workshops to give local inspiring filmmakers and residents the opportunity to indulge in their craft. Some of these opportunities will be Screenwriting, production & distribution, a 2-day animation workshop, Women In Film, and more.

Additionally, there will be some announcements of several new films in development that will be shot locally with some major stars and talent organized by BNFF Festival Founder and President Bill Cowell, which will specifically involve a Native American Film, an animation, the Prequel to the highly acclaimed "Bloodsport" feature which made Jean-Claude Van Damme famous, and a new concept feature in tribute to Quentin Tarantino, as well as future inclusions into the BNFF Walk Of Fame & Commemorative BNFF Monument (currently in development).

 

And For Those of You Who Like a Good Spirit & a Snack With Your Movie: There will be a full bar with sponsored beers, wines, and spirits of almost any kind, food, and snacks open 24/7 during all BNFF festival activities and events, including Lewiston. So no excuses, even if you don't do movies, come and support your community events, and have a drink while you're at it.

Volunteer/Internship Responsibilities:

 

Students and volunteers will act as a liaison between the Film Festival and festival sponsors and organizers.

 

Coordinate and run events with local theaters.

 

Correspond with filmmakers, production companies and media outlets.

 

Shoot, edit, design and produce promotional materials, videos and web content.

 

Assist with the day to day running of the Film Festival.

 

We need you to give creative input and positive energy to our everyday festival activities, and to help us ensure that the festival is successful and well attended. To assist us and put an interesting and appealing festival program together. Which will involve collaborating with committee members and others connected with the festival. In a nutshell, go-getters GET, procrastinators GET passed over!
