Liverpool Indie From ‘Space’, New York Surf Rock From ‘Deep Sea Peach Tree ‘, London Funk Rock From Jaz Mattu

Everybody’s favourite Liverpudlian, Britpop 4 piece are back (the one’s that have been with us since the 90’s not the 60’s) and they’re just as kooky as they ever were.

‘Metropolis’ is the first single to be taken from the brilliant new album ‘Give Me Your Future’. The single, along with the album was recorded and produced by Grammy and Brit award winning Steve Levine who has worked with many legends over the years including The Clash and The Beach Boys to name just a few.

When asked about working with Steve, Tommy said “Working with Steve Levine was amazing, the man gets into your head to imagine the sounds that you want before you have even played them, a true genius, this record is the most ‘Space’ one we have ever made and we’re all looking forward to sharing it with you all”.

Space have sold over 5 million records worldwide and have an array of Top 40 singles including ‘Neighbourhood’, ‘Female Of The Species’, ‘Me & You VS The World’, ‘Avenging Angels’, ‘Dark Clouds’ and ‘Begin Again’, their albums ‘Spiders’ and ‘Tin Planet’ have both been awarded double platinum disc status from the BPI.

The band continue to write gritty and edgy Pop that captivates the listener, new and old, they’re currently on a huge UK tour and also have a box set planned for next year, so they’re back again with brand new material and the world just got a whole lot brighter because of it!

They went on to change the name to Deep Sea Peach Tree and play various venues throughout NYC as well as colleges throughout the Northeast with bands such as Tonstartsbandht and Jeff The Brotherhood.

This brings us to their debut alum ‘Vaguely Navy’ on We Ride Bikes Records, an independent production collective consisting of Deep Sea Peach Tree and their brother band Flaccid Ashbacks. They had a switch around and Denis’ long time friend Wiley Watson and new friend Andrew Pesce were added in the Summer of 2018, they are currently based in Manhattan.

Jaz Mattu-169_highresedit

Kent, UK born Jaz Mattu blends Rock, Pop, and Funk with his music to create a truly unique sound. He sings, plays guitar, bass, synths and drums, he’s also the first person in his family to pick up a musical instrument, which he did at the age of 13 after seeing Nirvana’s ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ video on MTV.

He pleaded with his mother to get him a guitar and for some reason she did. It seemed to keep him out of trouble and off the streets during those difficult ‘teen years!’.

He took a break from music until finishing university and starting his ‘proper’ job as a software engineer, where he sat at his desk on his first day and figured there was no way he could do that job for the next 40 years….and so he decided to get back into music again.

His 4 track ‘Sachrine Times’ EP came out in January and was the starting point of ‘Sanguine Man’ which contains 14 absolute treasures for your listening pleasure.

Jaz is currently playing in and around London at venues like The Fiddler’s Elbow, Dublin Castle and The Water Rats. He’s currently booking more gigs as we speak.

Lead tracks for radio – Superstar Shuffle, Star Flying, Clear Less
