Silent Film with Organ Improvisation at Westminster Presbyterian Church

Friends and family are invited to join Westminster Presbyterian Church for a Halloween treat. Wear your favorite costume and experience the original classic silent horror film, “Phantom of the Opera,” accompanied by live, improvised organ music, on Friday, October 26, 7:30 PM, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 724 Delaware Avenue, Buffalo, NY.
The 1925 black and white film is one of the most elaborate productions of the silent movie era. Organist and Choirmaster, Garrett Martin, will accompany the film on Westminster’s historic Aeolian-Skinner pipe organ with an improvised score.
“This is a unique cinema experience, pairing one of the greatest silent films with an impromptu organ accompaniment,” says Martin. “The cinematography of the film together with Westminster’s colorful, rich, pipe organ will capture the moods of the film.”
This program is supported by the Westminster Friends of Music. Admission is free, with donations gratefully received to benefit the Westminster Friends of Music. For more information, call 716-884-9437 or visit www.wpcbuffalo.org.
