Sunday, November 11th from noon to 5 pm, all ages are invited to celebrate and recognize Jewish heritage, accomplishments, and culture at the Memorial Art Gallery. Suggested donation is $5 per group and includes museum admission ($5/per person surcharge applies for entry into Monet’s Waterloo Bridge: Vision and Process).
Among the highlights at the Jewish Heritage Celebration:
- 2 pm presentation & book signing in partnership with the JCC Lane Dworkin Rochester Jewish Book Festival: Memories of Survival with Bernice Steinhardt, daughter of artist Esther Nisenthal Krinitz, Fabric of Survival. (shown above)
- Story Cloth art activity and museum guided tours
- Jewish artist scavenger hunt in MAG’s collection
- A cappella performance from Hillel School’s Chai Notes
- Performance with Maury Rosenberg, director and leader of the New York Klezmer Orchestra
- Community tables from local organizations featuring religious, cultural and social aspects of Jewish life in Rochester, NY
- Kosher food available for purchase from Boulder Coffee Kosher Catering
