Buffalo Music Hall of Famer Debuts Music in Aurora Theatre Concert

Buffalo Music Hall of Fame Member and former lead guitar player for Rick James’ Stone City Band, Alyn Syms, will debut his latest music creation titled, Camerata, at The Aurora Theatre on Tuesday, March 12th at 7:30 pm.. Syms, who earned a national reputation for his electrifying rock and roll style, has evolved to a new-found passion for songwriting and performing one he describes as, “acoustic guitar with a medieval flair.” It’s a change that is again earning the Lackawanna native rave reviews.

“In 1980, I headlined a concert with my band, ASG, at Shea’s Buffalo Theater and we played to a sold-out audience, so I’m looking forward to performing at The Aurora Theatre in the same tradition,” Syms said. “I’ll play selections of my newest music from, Camerata, on the keyboard and then use one of the 11 guitars I’ll have onstage to play selections from Black Forest and my other works, “Cyrano” and “Variations on a Dream,” all of which Philharmonic Conductor JoAnn Falletta has praised as, “…lush orchestrations and inspirational melodies.” Then I’m going to close out the concert with a little electric guitar salute to my ASG days. It’s going to be an evening of musical performances of my absolute best.”

Opening for Syms will be East Aurora native, Holly K. The 23-year old singer-songwriter recently launched her second CD, Flew to the Moon, a collection of original acoustic indie music. According to Aurora Theatre owner, Lynn Kinsella, presenting an up-and-coming artist with an established talent results in a concert with wide audience appeal.

“We are very excited to offer The Aurora Theatre as the venue to highlight both Alyn Syms and Holly K.,” Kinsella stated. “Although we are a first-run movie theatre we are always looking for opportunities to expand the entertainment we can offer to the community.”

Tickets for the Alyn Syms concert are $20 general admission and $30 limited VIP. The VIP tickets will include front row seating as well as a personally signed copy of Syms’ CD, Black Forest, noted by philharmonic conductor, JoAnn Falletta as, “Absolutely beautiful and totally captivating. Music of great imagination and color, brilliantly performed by Alyn Syms.”
