Buffalonia 2019: A Party for a Good Cause

Buffalo Iron Works to host annual fundraiser to support the Matt Urban Center

The Matt Urban Center will host its fourth annual Buffalonia fundraiser on Friday, September 6, 2019 from 5:00-9:00 p.m. at Buffalo Iron Works. The event will feature live music by local musician Tim Britt, raffles, food and drinks, all to raise money to support the Matt Urban Center’s crucial programs and services, and celebrate the impact those programs have in our community.

The Matt Urban Center has been serving the East Side of Buffalo for over 43 years, providing programs and initiatives that enhance the quality of life for all residents—from children through seniors, and homeowners to the homeless. The agency serves over 20,000 clients per year, with services ranging from food pantries and supportive housing for homeless individuals, to weatherization, housing repair and homeownership programs, senior services and youth programs.

At the event, the Matt Urban Center will recognize two of our local council members, David Franczyk and Richard Fontana, for their years of dedicated service to the City of Buffalo’s Fillmore and Lovejoy Districts and the residents of those communities. There will be a brief ceremony to thank Councilmembers Franczyk and Fontana and wish them well on their future endeavors.

The event will feature a live music by Tim Britt, unlimited beer and wine, food, raffles, and games on the patio. Cost of admission will include unlimited beer and wine, food, and entertainment. Tickets are $30.00 and can be purchased online at www.urbanctr.org/buffalonia or in person at the Matt Urban Center (1081 Broadway) or Buffalo Iron Works (49 Illinois Street). Tickets will also be available for purchase at the door. All proceeds from ticket sales and raffles go to support the Matt Urban Center’s programs.
