American Legion Family Leadership Team visits the World War I Library exhibit

On Saturday February 16, 2019, at 11 AM, at the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library at 1 Lafayette Square, Buffalo, NY 14203.

The American Legion Department Commander Gary Schacher, Department President Marie Mock, SAL Detachment Commander James Coates, and Legion Rider Director Bob Wallace will be touring the World War I exhibit as we commemorate the 100^th Anniversary of that War and of The American Legion which was founded in 1919.

At this time, in conjunction with Visit Buffalo Niagara representative Mike Even Vice President of Sales & Services, we will announce that the Department of New York American Legion Family will be holding their Annual Convention in downtown Buffalo the week of July 15. The economic impact to the area will be approximately 2 million dollars, with approximately 2,000 rooms at the Hyatt and Buffalo Grand Hotels. The American Legion will be celebrating their 100^th Anniversary, as they formed at the conclusion of World War I.

This is the 17^th time the American Legion Family has hosted their annual convention in Buffalo. Overall Chairman is James Bojanowski, Auxiliary Chairperson is Karyn Porempski, and the Sons of the American Legion Chairman is Timothy Van Patten II.
