Music Icons Jon Anderson and Jean-Luc Ponty have combined their musical talents to form a new supergroup- The Anderson Ponty Band. Jon Anderson is best known as the brilliant singer/songwriter of the British Rock Band YES. Jean-Luc Ponty is an international violin superstar and a pioneer in both the Jazz and Rock genres. The band presents new compositions, rearrangements of Yes classics like “Owner of a Lonely Heart”, “Roundabout” and “Wonderous Stories”, as well as some of Jean-Luc Ponty’s compositions with lyrics penned by Jon Anderson such as “Infinite Mirage” or “Listening with Me.” The group recorded a live album at the Wheeler Opera House, Aspen, Colorado called “Better Late Than Never.” As Jon Anderson puts it “We want to re-design it.”
Anderson’s voice sounds just as good as ever and Ponty’s extraordinary violin playing is front and center. Two masters re-inventing themselves bringing joy to both their fans.
