Arun Gandhi - 4.24 @ Immaculate Academy
3pm, Immaculata Academy, 5138 South Park Ave, $25 fundraiser
Arun Gandhi, grandson of the great peacemaker Mahatma Gandhi, will speak on “Legacies of Nonviolence: From Gandhi to Sister Karen” at the fundraiser for the SSJ Sister Karen Klimczak Center For Nonviolence. Internationally known, Gandhi is the founder of the MK Gandhi Institute for Nonviolence. For his work at the Institute, Gandhi was presented with the Peace Abbey Courage of Conscience Award at the John F. Kennedy Library in Boston. As a tribute to Sister Karen’s 10th anniversary of her passing, Gandhi will share lessons about compassion and love from his beloved grandfather. “ If we know how much passive violence we perpetrate against one another we will understand why there is so much physical violence plagues societies and the world” Gandhi has said. Mr. Gandhi has spoke at the United Nations and has lectured in Universities and Colleges in all 50 states. Peace!
