Saouthern California rockers Best Coast are the duo of songrwriter/guitarist Bethany Cosentino and multi- intrumentalist Bobb Bruno, (although they do tour

with a full band). With musical roots like the Beach Boys and other 1960s Cali sunshine groups this band is California through and through. That’s comes across pretty clearly with albumb titles like “California Nights” and “The Only Place” [Calfornia of course].. They would easily fit on a list beside 1990s California Pop-Punk bands like Weezer and Blink 182, but Best Coast has a more jangly sound and are more willing to let go. We think the openng band Sunflower Bean might actually be a surprise showstealer. Barely in their 20s the Manahattan based band was named “the hardest working band in NYC” in 2014 listing site Oh My Rockers. Proundly citing Pink Floyd, Zepplin, Nirvana and the Velvets and inspriations, Sunflower Bean writes great songs appealingly delivered by singer/bassist Julia Cumming.
