Carl Verheyan is an American guitarist known for his work in Supertramp and also for being a top session guitarist. Verheyan plays guitar for other people’s records such as the Bee Gees and Cher, as well as movie soundtracks including “The Crow” starring the late Brandon Lee and “The Usual Suspects” starring Kevin Spacey. He has written a book entitled “Studio City”, a compilation of all the instructional columns written by him for Guitar Magazine between 1996 and 1999. His new album, “The Grand Design” is the cover story in Guitar Magazine this month. The album features an all-star band Dave Marotta, John Mader, Jim Cox, Sonny Landreth, Stuart Hamm and Chester Thompson. John Fogerty (best known as the frontman for Credence Clearwater Revival) says, “Carl is known as a studio guitar player but he’s much more than that. His records have the great feel of a live player. He plays with a lot of feeling.”
