MAGPIE, CHARLIE KING AND GEORGE MANN

9th Ward at Babeville Sun Oct 2nd 7:30pm

$15 adv/$18 at the door

The Ninth Ward is bringing a trio of great folk/Americana acts on Saturday. For more than forty years Terry Leonino and Greg Artzner have performed traditional and vintage Americana music and original compositions. Their two voices harmonize beautifully, supported with wonderful instrumental arrangements. Charlie King has been performing American folk music for over forty years, too, and is known as a political satirist and storyteller. Pete Seeger and Arlo Guthrie, among others, have sang and recorded his songs.  Also on the bill, George Mann, a former union organizer and activist from New York who sings powerful and funny songs about the state of the nation. George created and produced the “Hail to the Thief” anti-Bush CD series which featured folk legends such as Tom Paxton.
