On Tuesday the Sierra Club announced the beginning of a Campaign for Renewable Energy in New York State to “Turn, Don’t Burn.” Events, ads, and billboards are being launched in Buffalo, Rochester, Binghamton, and Auburn urging Governor Andrew Cuomo to make New York a national leader in clean energy. Specifically, we’re asking Cuomo to take administrative action to meet and extend the state’s renewable energy goal of 30 percent by 2015, and to develop new renewable energy sources like wind and solar instead of any continued investment in fossil fuels.
