The Sattler Theatre is a 928-seat, $35,000 "fireproof" structure built in 1914, on the site of the old wood-frame Casino Theatre. A group of black media professionals has purchased the former Sattler Theatre, 512-516 Broadway, one mile east of Main Street, The group’s Reginald Wallace envisions the building showing movies again, as well as housing a range of events ranging from theatrical performances and awards ceremonies to business conferences. |

Last Tuesday AV joined Ted Pietrzak, executive director of the Burchfield-Penney Art Center, and a host of other guests on a tour of the Burchfield-Penney's new facility. Construction continues, but the end is in sight: The new museum and education center will be handed over to the Burchfield-Penney in August, debut to the public in September, and begin hosting exhibits in November. |
