LUCKY TUBB & THE MODERN DAY TROUBADOURS -

Following the style of his great uncle, the legendary Ernest Tubbs, Lucky is reminiscent of the earliest Nashville country artists before music row forgot their Americana heritage. Based in Austin, Lucky has moved up the ranks of the Texas music scene by starting at the  bottom, playing coffee shops for tips with only a snare drummer. He began to gain fame opening up for country legends Ray Price and Dwight Yoakum. Tubbs is a veteran of poor management, heavy drinking and the quicky temper that seems to come to all great honky-tonkers and country legends. Lucky Tubbs isn’t cheese-ball retro country; you can hear the demons tormenting him in his voice. Good stuff! As Hank Williams says in his famous song “Lets Go Honky Tonking.”

Opening is local band Uncle Ben’s Remedy, winner of the Artvoice Best of Original Music competition.”
